Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has advocated the adoption of the parliamentary system of government in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Aregbesola warned that Nigeria cannot survive the current executive presidential system of government.<\/p>\n

He stated this during the National Constitutional Dialogue organised in honour of the late renowned constitutional lawyer, Prof Ben Nwabueze, on Monday, March 18.<\/p>\n

The former Osun State governor added that Nigerians are united more by production.<\/p>\n

Aregbesola said in part: \u201cWe are united more through production.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo in seeking appropriate democratic representation, let us look at production as a basis of representation. That\u2019s my first submission.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan Nigeria survive the executive presidential system?<\/p>\n

\u201cMy answer is Capital NO! Let us agree on Parliamentary System.\u201d<\/p>\n
