Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The House of Representatives has directed the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to provide urgent relief materials to communities, schools, and individuals affected by a recent rainstorm in the Akwanga\/Nasarawa Eggon\/Wamba Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n

The House, acting in response to a motion moved by Rep. Jeremiah Umaru, directed NEMA to promptly commence the reconstruction of destroyed schools and the rehabilitation of those affected by the rainstorm.<\/p>\n

Umaru expressed concern over the destruction caused by the rainstorm, including damaged homes and disrupted education in several communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe displaced persons are in dire need of immediate intervention in the form of medical supplies, temporary shelters and reconstruction to restore communities to their habitable state,\u201d Umaru stated.<\/p>\n

Recall that the rainstorm, which occurred on March 16, ravaged Government Girls\u2019 College, Wamba, and Government Science School, Wamba, among others, causing extensive damage to facilities worth millions of naira.<\/p>\n

Many communities in the constituency were also affected, with numerous individuals displaced and sustaining various degrees of injuries.<\/p>\n
