Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Police Command in Lagos says it has impounded 257 motorcycles for plying restricted roads and committing other traffic offences.<\/p>\n

The command\u2019s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, told NAN that the motorcycles were seized by a Rapid Response Squad, RRS team during special operations in the state on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Hundeyin said already, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Adegoke Fayoade, had displayed the seized motorcycles at the command\u2019s headquarters.<\/p>\n

He also said that the police commissioner commended the RRS team for its efforts.<\/p>\n

The police spokesman further said that the patrol operation would be a routine exercise, following reckless riding by commercial motorcyclists on some major roads across the state.<\/p>\n

He said that the impounded motorcycles would be crushed along with those earlier seized by the command.<\/p>\n
