Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police command has arrested one Pascal Akuh for allegedly faking his own kidnap.<\/p>\n

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh while parading the suspect at the command\u2019s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, said the arrests followed a complaint received by the suspect\u2019s brother, Akuh Chinemezeh.<\/p>\n

He explained that Chinemezeh registered the complaint in APO Divisional Headquarters and that his brother informed him that he (the suspect) was arrested and taken to SCID custody.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the strength of this, the police and suspect\u2019s family went to SCID, IRT and FCID detention facilities, only to discover that he is not in any of the aforementioned facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the help of a tracker using coordinates, the suspect\u2019s vehicle was traced to an area in Wumba, Apo. Acting on this intelligence, the police operatives from Apo Division swiftly mobilised to the scene, searched the entire axis and subsequently traced the suspect to a hotel in Lokogoma later in the night and arrested the suspect\u201d, the CP said.<\/p>\n

According to the CP, the suspect was confirmed to have faked his own kidnap to test his lover.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring interrogation, the suspect confessed that he only faked his own kidnap to prank the lady he intended to marry to know if she really loves him. Suspect is to be arraigned in court soon\u201d, Igweh added.<\/p>\n
