Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has voiced his disappointment over the conduct of the ongoing Ramadan Feeding program in the Kano metropolis accusing handlers of siphoning food.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday.<\/p>\n

The governor expressed his dismay during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

During his inspection, Governor Yusuf conveyed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the program handlers, accusing them of depriving the intended beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, stating, \u201cWe will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources.\u201d<\/p>\n

His impromptu inspection was prompted by intelligence reports suggesting deficiencies in the management of the feeding program at various centres across the metropolis.<\/p>\n

The Governor\u2019s proactive approach underscores the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of social welfare programs during the holy month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

Kano State government has budgeted N6b for the 2024 Ramadan feeding programme across the 44 local government areas of the state.<\/p>\n
