Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Federal University, Gashu\u2019a, Yobe State, has confirmed the death of a 300-level student of Geography, Shamsiya Murtala, in the fire incident in one of the school\u2019s female hostels on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The university made the announcement on its official Facebook page.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved 300-level student of Geography, Shamsiya Murtala, at Federal University Gashua.<\/p>\n

\u201cShamsiya\u2019s life was cut short today as a result of the devastating fire incident in the female hostel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are deeply saddened by this loss and extend our sincerest condolences to Shamsiya\u2019s family, friends, and all who knew her. She was a bright and promising student, known for her dedication to her studies and her vibrant spirit.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a community, we mourn the loss of Shamsiya and stand together in solidarity during this difficult time. We will cherish her memory and the impact she made on our lives forever.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay her soul find peace, and may her family find strength and comfort in the midst of this tragedy,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST had reported that a fire outbreak at the varsity razed down one of the female hostels, destroying students\u2019 valuables.<\/p>\n
