Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tony Aziegbemi has regained freedom from his abductors after 11 days.<\/p>\n

The PDP chairman was abducted by armed men on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11 pm at the entrance to his house after a meeting with the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.<\/p>\n

The kidnappers had demanded for N500 million ransom to release their victim.<\/p>\n

Senator Odion Ugbesia confirmed the release of the state PDP chairman.<\/p>\n

Ugbesia, who spoke to newsmen on phone simply said, \u201cYes, I just spoke to him, it is true. To God be the glory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a statement signed by Clem Aziegbemi, on behalf of the Aziegbemi\u2019s family, thanked the general public for the show of love and solidarity to the family throughout the unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a member of the Aziegbemi family, we say thank you all for your great show of love and solidarity with us all through the period of the unfortunate and ugly abduction of our beloved son, brother, cousin, and leader, Dr Tony Aziegbemi for his unhurt release.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, all…. We are most grateful for all your valuable contributions through prayers and steadfastness\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
