Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man, Dolapo Babalola, for allegedly killing his childhood friend, one Evangelist Opeyemi Oyelakin, and stealing his motorcycle.<\/p>\n

The Command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who disclosed this to newsmen in Akure on Sunday, said the incident occurred at Ondo town in Ondo State.<\/p>\n

According to her, the suspect was arrested following a complaint received on March 25 that a motorcycle, marked KAK 136 VF, was stolen and the rider was nowhere to be found.<\/p>\n

She added that following the report, detectives swung into action and arrested Babalola on the same date.<\/p>\n

During interrogations, the suspect confessed that \u201cthe said Opeyemi Oyelakin, the \u2018deceased\u2019, was his childhood friend, and they had not seen for a very long time until March 14, 2024\u201d.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson explained that the suspect and one Sikiru Mutiu, aka S.K., still at large, on March 15, told Oyelakin to carry them on his motorcycle to their farm at Oke-Igbo Area.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs soon as they dropped, Mutiu gripped Oyelakin from behind while Babalola used stick and stone to hit him on his head until he died.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe corpse was dragged to a shallow pit, and they covered it with leaves before his motorcycle was stolen,\u201d the spokesperson quoted the suspect as saying.<\/p>\n
