Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Three men have been arrested for rustling a total of 132 rams in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.<\/p>\n

The suspects are Mohammed Abdullahi Chumo, 30, of Ukoro, Kwara State, Aliyu Salihu, 20, of Gwadabawa, Sokoto State and Arzika Ahmadu, 25, also of Gwadabawa, Sokoto State.<\/p>\n

Spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation.<\/p>\n

He explained that they conspired and rustled 132 rams from two victims who were grazing the rams around Manigi area of Mashegu LGA.<\/p>\n

\u201cFortunately, on 14 March, 2024, one of the victims sighted a member of the gang, Chumo, at Zungeru Market with six of the rams in an attempt to sell them. The victim raised an alarm,\u201d Abiodun said.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that immediately, the suspect was arrested and led the Police team to Jimi village where other rams were kept.<\/p>\n

Aliyu and Arzika were subsequently arrested.<\/p>\n

The suspects have been transferred to the Crack Squad Unit of the Police Command for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.<\/p>\n

The police spokesman added that the rams have been released to the rightful owner.<\/p>\n
