{"id":115208,"date":"2024-04-07T19:57:12","date_gmt":"2024-04-07T18:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/nigerian-air-force-destroys-terrorists-enclaves-in-katsina-borno"},"modified":"2024-04-07T22:12:19","modified_gmt":"2024-04-07T21:12:19","slug":"nigerian-air-force-destroys-terrorists-enclaves-in-katsina-borno","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/nigerian-air-force-destroys-terrorists-enclaves-in-katsina-borno","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Air Force destroys terrorists\u2019 enclaves in Katsina, Borno"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigeria Air Force, NAF, has destroyed terrorists\u2019 enclaves in Borno and Katsina states while killing several of the insurgents.<\/p>\n<p>Air component of Operation Hadarin Daji and Hadin Kai carried out the airstrikes over the weekend in the two states.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by NAF\u2019s Director, Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet said the NAF struck a terrorist enclave located northwest of Yartsamiya Village in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State on Friday, April 5, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Gabkwet said troops spotted a set of 11 armed terrorists moving towards a mountainous area at the location.<\/p>\n<p>He said another two separate sets of terrorists joined the first set, and all were observed heading towards the same direction towards the mountainous high ground.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, following authorisation, the terrorists were effectively engaged by NAF aircraft in several passes with scores neutralised and the few survivors scampering in disarray.<\/p>\n<p>The NAF spokesman disclosed that more airstrikes were conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai in the early hours of Saturday, 6 April 2024 at Grazah in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.<\/p>\n<p>He said previous intelligence had revealed that Grazah, previously known as a hideout for terrorists, was converted into a logistics storage hub and an area for fabricating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other ammunition.<\/p>\n<p>NAF\u2019s spokesman stressed that recent intelligence also revealed significant activities consistent with terrorists\u2019 behaviour around some makeshift structures at the location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsequently, air interdiction was conducted at the location with Battle Damage Assessment footages and feedback received revealing several terrorists neutralised,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said such operations, carried out deep into terrorists\u2019 enclaves, will continue as the locations are believed to aid their recruitment, training and nurturing of potential terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>He added that \u201cattacking their logistics hubs also help in reducing their ability to carry out massive attacks, especially on innocent civilians and troop\u2019s location\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
