Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa\u2019ad Abubakar, has declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitri day.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a press release signed by Professor Sambo Junaidu, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council.<\/p>\n

The statement confirmed that the council has acknowledged the report and officially designated Wednesday as the commencement of Shawwal 1445AH, as stated in a press release in Sokoto on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Eminence, the Sultan felicitates with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah\u2019s guidance and blessings.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sultan, while urging the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress, and development of the country, also wishes all Muslims a happy Eid-el-Fitri.\u201d<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia had declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitr, after the crescent moon was not spotted on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
