Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Sobomabo Jackrich, the governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, in the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n

According to the state command, the arrest was carried out by a sister security agency.<\/p>\n

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed this in a statement to journalists on Monday, stating that two individuals lost their lives during the operation, which took place in Degema Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n

Earlier, there was a report that Jackrich had been taken away by individuals wearing military uniforms.<\/p>\n

The operation was said to have lasted for hours, and resulted in the deaths of two aides to the NRM governorship candidate, Tamunoiminabo and Sincere Jackrich.<\/p>\n

George Zua, an aide to Jackrich, claimed the bodies were subsequently removed from the scene by the assailants.<\/p>\n

SP Iringe-Koko stated that the security agency responsible for the operation is expected to transfer the case file to the police for further investigation.<\/p>\n
