Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The National leadership of the New Nigerian People\u2019s Party, NNPP, has revealed what informed its decision to change its logo.<\/p>\n

This comes amid the rejection of the change by the southwest zonal chapter of the party which it described as unacceptable to the members.<\/p>\n

Recall that the NNPP had at the weekend conducted its national convention and ratified the appointment of new national working committee, NWC, members and unveiled a new logo and slogan.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a live TVC program, \u201cBeyond 100 Days\u201d, monitored on Tuesday morning, the national secretary of the NNPP, Dapo Oluyokun said \u201cWhat really informed that, in the last general elections, we suffered some setbacks because of the logo we had. And to the extent that many of our members across the country were calling the national secretariat to complain that our logo was not on the ballot paper.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven myself, when I entered the polling booths, it took some time to identify what INEC gave to us in the ballot paper. It was later we discovered that it had many colours. It really affected the production of the papers. And that was why we said that there was a need for us to do something. At least, to do something that will make it easy for our voters and followers to identify NNPP, no matter the problems with the ballot papers produced by INEC.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also looked at the issue of education which is germane in Nigeria today. Once you are educated, you have the key and opportunities. We decided to make education the key thing. And that is why we say our slogan is \u201cEducation for All\u201d. So, we have tried to lesson with what happened to us in the last election. Particularly, because of the nature of multiple things we had on the logo\u201d.<\/p>\n
