Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The All Progressives Congress, APC, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, calling for the probe and apprehension of one Auwalu Jemomi and eight others for allegedly impersonating party executives of Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.<\/p>\n

The National Legal Adviser of the party,<\/p>\n

Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, in a petition dated April 16, said the statement issued by Jemomi and his group, announcing the suspension of APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, has created confusion and unrest among members of the party and the public at large.<\/p>\n

The petition reads: \u201cAs the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I am writing to formally petitioned your esteemed office to investigate and apprehend the following persons; Auwalu Galadima Jemomi, Muhde Weti, Danmala Gale, Samaila Haladu, Laminu Sani Barguma, Musa Lado, Lado Maishayi, Amadu Maishayi and Umar Amarwa<\/p>\n

\u201cThe above-mentioned persons have falsely claimed to be party executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically, on April 15, 2024, Auwalu Galadima Jemomi and his accomplices, claiming to be party executives of the APC from Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Kano State, falsely issued a press statement suspending our National Chairman, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, from the party.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis unauthorised and misleading statement has created significant confusion and unrest among our members and the public at large.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kana noted that the alleged impersonation and dissemination of false information are not only illegal but also have the potential to disrupt public peace and order.<\/p>\n

He, therefore, requested the police to promptly investigate the matter and apprehend Jemomi and his accomplices.<\/p>\n

Kana further requested the police to identify and investigate any sponsors or conspirators associated with the incident beyond those explicitly named in the petition.<\/p>\n

The legal adviser of Ganduje\u2019s ward, Haladu Gwanjo, on Monday explained that they decided to suspend Ganduje from the party due to the allegations, bordering on bribery, levelled against him by the state government.<\/p>\n

Also, a Kano State High Court on Wednesday affirmed Ganduje\u2019s suspension following an ex parte order restraining him from further parading himself as a member of the APC.<\/p>\n

The order was granted by Justice Usman Na\u2019abba following an ex parte motion filed by Haladu Gwanjo and Laminu Sani by their counsel Ibrahim Sa\u2019ad.<\/p>\n
