Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Accreditation and voting have commenced in some polling units in Ibadan in the local government election in Oyo State.<\/p>\n

The election is being conducted in the 33 local government areas by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC.<\/p>\n

There are reports of late arrival of materials in some polling units.<\/p>\n

Some of the local government areas visited by our correspondent include Ido, Ibadan North, and Ibadan North East local government areas.<\/p>\n

A visit to polling unit 1, Ward 11 in Ibadan North East Local Government confirmed that accreditation and voting have commenced.<\/p>\n

An electoral officer who spoke to our correspondent said the exercise started around 8:30 am.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is ward 11 unit 1, Ibadan North East local government area. We started accreditation and voting at 8:30 am. People have been coming here to vote.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see, people have been coming here to vote,\u201d the officer said.<\/p>\n
