Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A housewife, Khadijat Mustapha, has approached an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja seeking the dissolution of her twenty-four-year-old marriage to her husband, Mahmuda Adamu on grounds of lack of love and affection.<\/p>\n

Mustapha told the court that she got married to Adamu, according to Islamic laws in the year 2000 and was blessed with five children.<\/p>\n

She said her husband called her an adulteress, threatened her life and always beat her at any slight provocation.<\/p>\n

\u201d My husband does not pray as a Muslim should and there is no more love between us, I want the court to dissolve the marriage,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The respondent, however, said he was still in love with his wife and needed time to settle with her.<\/p>\n

The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, adjourned the matter until May 6 for the couple to settle their differences and report back to the court. (NAN)<\/p>\n
