Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Department of State Services, DSS, has sealed off the Al-Ihsan clinic in Ungwan Rogo community in Jos North local government area of Plateau State.<\/p>\n

An allegation of quackery and reported death of a patient who received treatment at the clinic resulted in the action of the secret police, on Sunday, according to Daily Trust.<\/p>\n

A woman reportedly died in the clinic last week following a surgery supposedly performed by one Mr Lukuma Abdul, the incident sparked reactions, with many attributing the death to the surgery, raising concern about his medical speciality.<\/p>\n

Abdul, however, denied the accusation, saying that the surgery did not lead to her death.<\/p>\n

A complaint filed by some members of the community to the state ministry of health over alleged quackery at the clinic led to the action of the DSS.<\/p>\n

Sadis Muhammad Albasu, a community member who shared his account of the situation said, \u201cThe primary reason for sealing the hospital is the alleged quackery activities at the clinic, which came to light after a woman\u2019s death following a surgical procedure there.<\/p>\n

\u201dThe issue is that Mr Lukman is not a qualified medical doctor; in fact, he is not a doctor at all, and therefore lacks the necessary qualifications to perform surgical procedures.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people are complaining and that was why the matter was reported to the state ministry of health for necessary actions. He is not a doctor. He is currently schooling but he has been carrying out surgery on people in the community,\u201d the community leader said.<\/p>\n
