President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with people and government of Rivers State following the death of some workers in a gas pipeline tragedy in the state.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST had reported that dozens were on Saturday feared dead when a gas pipeline exploded at Kom Kom in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State.<\/p>\n
An eyewitness had told newsmen that, \u201cWe were just waking up when we heard a very loud sound. We knew it was an explosion but did not know the kind of explosion. We later traced the thick smoke to the gas pipeline.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reacting, Buhari in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu in Abuja on Saturday, also condoled with the families of the victims.<\/p>\n
He said he was extremely pained by the loss of lives as a result of the incident.<\/p>\n
He, therefore, asked for \u201da thorough investigation to determine what was responsible for the gas pipeline tragedy in Oyibo Local Government Area of Rivers in which several fatalities were reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
