Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>There was commotion on Saturday at the popular Banex Plaza phone market, located in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja, as soldiers and some traders clashed over the sale of a defective phone.<\/p>\n

Daily Trust reports that a trader said that the soldiers were attacked after a disagreement with some persons in the market.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not currently in the market but I called my boys at the shop and they told me there was a disagreement between some boy and soldiers,\u201d the trader said.<\/p>\n

The newspaper said it sighted a video of the incident where a group of young men were seen arguing with two soldiers.<\/p>\n

The young men later broke into groups of three, attacking their targets fiercely.<\/p>\n

A man seen in mufti was also attacked by the mob, but it is unclear if he is also a soldier.<\/p>\n

In another video, traders were seen locking up their shops over fears of a reprisal attack by soldiers.<\/p>\n

The military authorities have not commented on the incident at the time of filing this report.<\/p>\n

However, another medium, PararallelFact reported that the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said the Commissioner of Police, Benett Igweh has deployed officers of the FCT Intelligence Response Team to the scene of the incident.<\/p>\n
