{"id":120169,"date":"2024-05-30T22:01:09","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T21:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/court-remands-man-for-allegedly-defiling-16-year-old-girl-in-lagos"},"modified":"2024-05-31T00:54:52","modified_gmt":"2024-05-30T23:54:52","slug":"court-remands-man-for-allegedly-defiling-16-year-old-girl-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/court-remands-man-for-allegedly-defiling-16-year-old-girl-in-lagos","title":{"rendered":"Court remands man for allegedly defiling 16-year-old girl in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>An Ikeja Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court, on Thursday remanded a 34-year-old man, Emenike Agugwo in a correction facility for allegedly defiling a 16-year old girl.<\/p>\n<p>Agugwo who resides at Agodo in the Ikotun area of Lagos, is charged with defilement.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecutor, Insp John Iberedem, told the court that the suspect committed the offence at about 7:30p.m., on April 4 at Okesanya Street, Papa\u2013Ajao, Lagos Barcha, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Iberedem said that the suspect forcefully had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Magistrate, Mrs E.
