{"id":120524,"date":"2024-06-01T22:03:30","date_gmt":"2024-06-01T21:03:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-arrest-car-theft-syndicate-in-kwara"},"modified":"2024-06-02T00:37:47","modified_gmt":"2024-06-01T23:37:47","slug":"police-arrest-car-theft-syndicate-in-kwara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/police-arrest-car-theft-syndicate-in-kwara","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest car theft syndicate in Kwara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives of the Kwara State Police Command have arrested some suspects allegedly connected with the dismantling of suspected stolen cars in Ilorin, the state capital.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson of the command, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cAt approximately 1200 hours on May 24, 2024, detectives were alerted to suspicious activities at a dump site located around the Madi area along the Okolowo-Jebba Expressway in Ilorin, where individuals were seen dismantling a car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival at the scene, Abdulateef Abdulwahab, Wasiu Musa, and Tajudeen Abdulrasak were arrested. A dismantled ash-coloured Nissan Almera car, with Lagos registration number AKD919AU, was recovered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The police spokesperson said during interrogation, the suspects provided information leading to the arrest of other accomplices, namely Usman Oseni, Abdulrasheed Jimoh, Abdulrasak Jamiu Ayinde, and Lukman Ibrahim, all residents of Ilorin, Kwara State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary investigations revealed that the Nissan Almera was snatched at gunpoint in Lagos State and transported to Ilorin for dismantling and resale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo other suspects, Olarewaju Sukirulahi and an individual known as \u201cOld Soldier,\u201d remain at large.
