Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Mohammed Yaya, a 45-year-old man, has reportedly defiled a 10-year-old girl after offering her N150 on two different occasions in Tumu, Akko local government area of Gombe State.<\/p>\n

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this while parading suspects on Friday at the command\u2019s headquarters in Gombe.<\/p>\n

Abdullahi said the man paid the girl N100 and N50 respectively while confessing to the crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the 27th May 2024, the suspect lured a 10-year-old girl into his house and had carnal knowledge of her. Upon preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to having carried out the act on two separate occasions.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe disclosed that he gave her 100 and 50 naira respectively. The case is under investigation and will soon be charged to court for prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a similar development, the police PRO said a 13-year-old minor was also arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Akko.<\/p>\n

Abdullahi stated that the suspect forced the eight-year-old girl to a lonely path where he had his way with her.<\/p>\n

According to Abdullahi, \u201cOn 24th May 2024, a formal complaint was received at Akko Division that on the 22nd May 2024, the suspect dragged an eight-year-old girl to a corner and had carnal knowledge of her. The case is under investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abdullahi also paraded Usman Husseini aged 18 years of Hammadu Kafi quarters Gombe, who was said to have defiled a minor through his finger.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the 26th May 2024, a formal complaint was received from one Musa Saleh of Hammadu-kafi quarters Gombe that Husseini carried his daughter aged 4 years to a corner near his house and put his finger inside her private part.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn receipt of the complaint, detectives from Pantami Division rushed to the scene and arrested the said suspect and took both the suspect and victim to the Specialist Hospital for medical examination.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe case is still under investigation and will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations,\u201d Abdullahi added.<\/p>\n

While commenting on the Child Protection implementation policy in the state, Abdullahi said, \u201cIssue of rape has serious attention of the government. The Department of Public Prosecutions is taking it up on itself to tackle rape and other forms of abuses.\u201d<\/p>\n
