Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former lawmaker, Senator Daniel Bwala, has said Nigerian governors have no justification to say that the N60,000 minimum wage is not sustainable.<\/p>\n

This is even as the former lawmaker said Nigerians should better know where their problems lie.<\/p>\n

Bwala dismissed the governors\u2019 claim that there would be no money left for development if they were to pay N60,000 as minimum wage, saying they have no development to show in the first place.<\/p>\n

The statement came after governors of the 36 states of the federation rejected the N60,000 minimum wage earlier proposed by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n

They argued that the N60, 000 wage is not realistic and unsustainable, insisting that if implemented, it would force some states in the country to borrow to pay workers\u2019 salaries.<\/p>\n

However, Bwala, in a post on his X handle on Saturday, said Nigerians should better know where their problems lie.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere is no justification for Nigerian governors saying the 60,000 minimum wage is not sustainable when we are talking about upgrading to a reasonable living wage. Nigerians should better know where their problems lie.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen governors say if they pay 60k there would be no money left for development, you wonder WHICH DEVELOPMENT HAVE THEY BEEN DOING in the first place.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the increased FAAC allocation, very few governors have improved their states or the living conditions of their citizens.<\/p>\n
