Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, expressed worry over the division and political wrangling in the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n

Fayose said this while addressing his supporters in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the PDP congress in July.<\/p>\n

He appealed to members to sheath their swords and ensure that the party survives and remains functional.<\/p>\n

He also urged members of the party to refrain from playing politics of bitterness, to ensure victory for the PDP in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have come to tell you that the PDP must not die in Ekiti State. I want you to have peace; please, don\u2019t destroy my personality.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we come to the election period, we will fight BAO, the PDP is not in order in Ekiti, let us come together.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel satisfied with the work that Governor Biodun Oyebanji has done so far in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernor BAO, is a humble governor, thirteen times, he has visited me in Lagos to greet me. We discussed the progress and development of the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to respect him, that has nothing to do with politics, he is the only governor that has brought all governors in the state together.<\/p>\n

\u201dWhen it is time for the election, we will confront him. I am a landmark Governor in Ekiti State.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe supported Asiwaju in the last presidential election because he is a Yoruba man, and it\u2019s time for our presidency.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not looking for opposition. If you say Fayose does not matter, wait, during the election you will see.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet there be no Olujimi, Fayose, Bisi K, Duro Faseyi factions in PDP, let us work for peace so that we will be able to win elections in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am going to all local government areas and I will support them with logistics for the election of our party,\u201d Fayose said.<\/p>\n
