Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The prime suspect in the recent motorcycle theft at the premises of the popular eatery, Lavista, has been identified as a tailor.<\/p>\n

A Facebook user, speaking under the condition of anonymity, revealed that the suspect, known as Shanunu, is a resident of the Tudun Gwandara area of Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that Shanunu, along with an accomplice, reportedly rode a motorcycle to Lavista where they stole another motorcycle belonging to a customer parked within the premises.<\/p>\n

The suspect hacked the motorcycle and rode it away. However, the incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed at the eatery, leading to the arrest of both suspects and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle by operatives of the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Agency (NAYEA), formerly known as NAYES.<\/p>\n

Recall that the suspects somehow managed to escape from NAYEA custody, prompting widespread criticism from residents.<\/p>\n

Many alleged that the escape was aided by officials of the state security outfit.<\/p>\n

In an effort to restore public confidence, the General Manager of NAYEA, Mr Abdullahi Bala Likita, arrested two officers on duty at the time of the escape and handed them over to the police for appropriate action.<\/p>\n

Despite these efforts, the suspected motorcycle thieves remain at large.<\/p>\n
