Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Popular activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has charged Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State to hand over his predecessor, Yahaya Bello to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for trial.<\/p>\n

Adeyanju made the call while describing Ododo as an impunity-loving governor.<\/p>\n

Posting on Facebook, Adeyanju wrote: \u201cOdodo, the impunity-loving governor of Kogi State should hand over Yahaya Bello to the EFCC to face trial for all his corrupt acts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bello has been on the run since EFCC initiated a fraud case with N80.2 billion while he was still governor of Kogi State.<\/p>\n

He went into hiding after operatives of the anti-graft agency attempted to arrest him from his residence in Abuja.<\/p>\n

During the raid by EFCC, Ododo had stormed Bello\u2019s residence and whisked him out of the house.<\/p>\n

Following its inability to arrest him, EFCC had placed him on the wanted list.<\/p>\n

Amid the saga with the EFCC, Bello had prayed an Abuja Federal High Court to transfer his case to Kogi State for trial.<\/p>\n

But Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court dismissed Bello\u2019s application seeking to transfer his case to Kogi State.<\/p>\n

Justice Tsoho upheld the argument of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, that the case should remain in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, there are reports that Ododo is hiding Bello at the Kogi State Government House.<\/p>\n
