{"id":124490,"date":"2024-07-16T21:28:07","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T20:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/customs-intercepts-26000-litres-of-smuggled-petrol-in-cross-river"},"modified":"2024-07-16T22:45:47","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T21:45:47","slug":"customs-intercepts-26000-litres-of-smuggled-petrol-in-cross-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/customs-intercepts-26000-litres-of-smuggled-petrol-in-cross-river","title":{"rendered":"Customs intercepts 26,000 litres of smuggled petrol in Cross River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Cross River and Akwa Ibom Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says it intercepted 26,625 liters of petrol at different locations in Cross River.<\/p>\n<p>Kehinde Ejibunu, Comptroller in-charge of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone \u2018A\u2019 Lagos, made this disclosure in Calabar on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Ejibunu, who said that the product was smuggled in 1,065 kegs, gave the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the 26,625 liters of the PMS as N40,054,125.<\/p>\n<p>The comptroller said that the seizure was made at the Zone C axis of the NCS by a special taskforce, \u2018Operation Whirl Wind\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis particular seizure is coming on the heels of a huge seizure of petroleum products respectively in zones A and B, covering both Lagos and Kebbi states, recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGathering here in Calabar this morning, the headquarters of Cross River \/Akwa Ibom \/FTZ Area Command, is for me to showcase to the general public another milestone recorded by the operatives of Operation Whirl Wind in zone C axis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, we have another seizure of 1,065 kegs of PMS, containing 26,625 of PMS together with one mode of conveyance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese interceptions were made on different dates and locations across Agbalagba-Ikom, Akansoko road, Ikom-Ogoja road and other places within the zone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is worthy to note that in collaboration with NMDPRA, our operatives monitored the supply and distribution chain right from the depot of loading up to the final destination (retail outlets) to ensure PMS reach its manifested destinations,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
