Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Abdullahi Mohammed, one of the suspects who recently escaped from the custody of the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Agency, NAYEA, has accused an officer of the state-owned security outfit, Abdullahi Umar, of aiding their escape.<\/p>\n

Mohammed alleged that Umar accepted a \u20a650,000 bribe from some family members to facilitate his escape from custody in the Lafia metropolis.<\/p>\n

He revealed this information following his rearrest after weeks of manhunt by security operatives.<\/p>\n

Mohammed and another suspect, who remains at large, had stolen a motorcycle parked at the premises of the popular eatery Lavista in Lafia.<\/p>\n

The theft was captured on CCTV, leading to their initial arrest by NAYEA operatives, formerly known as the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Scheme.<\/p>\n

The suspect has since been handed over to the Nigerian Police for further investigation and appropriate action.<\/p>\n

Efforts are ongoing to rearrest his accomplice.<\/p>\n
