{"id":125559,"date":"2024-07-24T21:50:28","date_gmt":"2024-07-24T20:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/peter-obi-blatant-liar-inciting-nigerians-against-tinubu-apc"},"modified":"2024-07-24T22:59:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T21:59:01","slug":"peter-obi-blatant-liar-inciting-nigerians-against-tinubu-apc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/peter-obi-blatant-liar-inciting-nigerians-against-tinubu-apc","title":{"rendered":"Peter Obi blatant liar, inciting Nigerians against Tinubu \u2013 APC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the 2023 Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi as a blatant liar.<\/p>\n<p>APC said alleged Obi\u2019s blatant distortions and misinformation was calculated to mobilize outrage against President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, said Obi\u2019s remark that Nigeria\u2019s economic crisis was caused by the nine years of APC-led administration was misleading and a lie.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement he signed, Morka said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was responsible for the country\u2019s economic crisis and not APC.<\/p>\n<p>The statement by Morka reads partly: \u201cThe presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, has continued, unabashedly, to showcase his obsessive devotion to self promotion against the best interest of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr Obi\u2019s latest statement on the country\u2019s economic situation is an admixture of half truths, blatant distortions and misinformation calculated to mobilize outrage against the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis warped conclusion that Nigeria\u2019s economic crisis was caused by nine years of APC-led administration is a highly revisionist, dishonest, distorted and deliberately misleading assessment of the country\u2019s economic trajectory in the last decade. He opined, rather mischievously, that no efforts were being made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration to tackle poverty and unemployment in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe facts tell a far more complex and different story. The country\u2019s economic decline began under the watch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with GDP growth plummeting from 7.98% in 2010 to 2.79% in 2015.
