Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos State Chairperson of the Labour Party, LP, Dayo Ekong, says she is not at loggerheads with the National Chairman of the party, Mr Julius Abure.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Saturday in Lagos, Ekong said that the clarification became imperative following a social media report of a power tussle with Abure.<\/p>\n

While dismissing the report of her challenging the authority of Abure, Ekong said, \u201cIt has come to my attention that a recent article authored by a certain faceless and unknown blogger has falsely claimed that Dayo Ekong, the Labour Party Chairperson, Lagos State, is at loggerheads with the national chairman.<\/p>\n

\u201cI categorically state that these allegations are entirely baseless and are nothing more than fabrications by opposition elements aiming to sow discord within the Labour Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always maintained a cordial and cooperative relationship with Mr Julius Abure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mutual goal has been and continues to be the progress and unity of the Labour Party,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to her, any claim suggesting otherwise was an outright lie intended to mislead the public and disrupt the harmonious workings in the party.<\/p>\n

She urged party members and supporters to disregard \u201cthese unfounded allegations and remain focused on our collective mission\u201d.<\/p>\n

She said it was evident that the allegation is a strategic ploy by those who feel threatened by the growing strength and influence of the Labour Party.<\/p>\n

The LP chairperson said that the purveyors were seeking to mislead the innocent ones who want a better society.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe must remain focused at this crucial times and not be distracted by petty and mischievous elements who have no role to play in nation building.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us remain united and steadfast in our commitment to the ideals and principles that our party stands for.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether, we will overcome any attempts to destabilize our unity and continue to work towards a better future for all.\u201d<\/p>\n
