Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned five men before the Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for alleged stealing of construction materials belonging to the state government.<\/p>\n

The suspects, Bamidele Solomon, Folorunsho Dada, Sunday Idowu, Olaniyi Opeyemi and Olaniyi Bamidele were brought before Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun.<\/p>\n

The suspects were arraigned on three counts of conspiracy to steal granite the property of Ekiti State government valued at N472,500. They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n

The police prosecutor, Mr Akinwale Oriyomi told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences on 5th August, 2024.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor thereafter asked for a trial date following their not-guilty plea.<\/p>\n

According to the prosecutor, the alleged offences violate sections 421, 302 (1) (A) and 343 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, however, granted bail of N200,000 with two surety each while the case was adjourned until September 6th for the commencement of trial.<\/p>\n
