{"id":127755,"date":"2024-08-13T23:37:35","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T22:37:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/edo-gets-new-commissioner-of-police"},"modified":"2024-08-14T00:44:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T23:44:33","slug":"edo-gets-new-commissioner-of-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/edo-gets-new-commissioner-of-police","title":{"rendered":"Edo gets new Commissioner of Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A new Commissioner of Police, Nemi Edwin-Iwo, has been posted to the Edo State Police Command.<\/p>\n<p>The new commissioner, who resumed duty on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, took over from CP Funsho Adegboye as the 47th commissioner of the command.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Moses Yamu, said that until his new posting, Edwin-Iwo was the Commissioner of Police in charge of intelligence at the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Edwin-Iwo, who hails from Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in History from the University of Port-Harcourt and a Master\u2019s in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>He enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks.<\/p>\n<p>Edwin-Iwo had served as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command and Commissioner of Police, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) Force Headquarters, Abuja, among other appointments.<\/p>\n<p>He was also once the Police PRO in Lagos and Oyo states, and a Divisional Police Officer in Bayelsa State.<\/p>\n<p>The new commissioner, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, IACP, has attended several tactical and leadership courses within and outside the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
