Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigerian Army has pledged to enhance its partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) with the aim of boosting ongoing the counter-terrorism campaign and protection of critical national assets.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Friday, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, said the collaboration was reaffirmed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, during the visit of the Coordinator National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Major General Adamu Laka at the Army Headquarters, Abuja<\/p>\n

Lagbaja stressed the importance of the partnership in curbing terrorism and enhancing the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important we continue to find ways to enhance our operations by improving our strategies to tackle the evolving threat of terrorism. We will continue to work together to ensure the safety and security of our nation and her critical assets, he stated.<\/p>\n

The coordinator briefed the COAS on the latest developments in the centre\u2019s counter-terrorism efforts.<\/p>\n

He expressed gratitude for the collaboration, highlighting the necessity of an integrated approach to counter-terrorism efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether, we will enhance our capabilities and response strategies, ensuring that we are prepared to confront any challenges that may arise,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Laka lauded the COAS for his visionary leadership. \u201cThe COAS has been a key player in the fight against terrorism, who has always strongly advocated for a multi-faceted approach to tackling terrorism, and ever willing to support the Center\u2019s initiatives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The visit climaxed with the exchange of souvenirs and a commemorative group photograph.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that the collaboration underscores the Nigerian Army\u2019s commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.<\/p>\n
