{"id":128232,"date":"2024-08-18T10:29:11","date_gmt":"2024-08-18T09:29:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/again-prophet-jeremiah-fufeyin-threatens-lawsuit-against-vdm-over-fresh-allegation"},"modified":"2024-08-18T11:32:28","modified_gmt":"2024-08-18T10:32:28","slug":"again-prophet-jeremiah-fufeyin-threatens-lawsuit-against-vdm-over-fresh-allegation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/again-prophet-jeremiah-fufeyin-threatens-lawsuit-against-vdm-over-fresh-allegation","title":{"rendered":"Again, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin threatens lawsuit against VDM over fresh allegation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The General Overseer and Senior Prophet of the Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin has again threatened a lawsuit against popular social critic, Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).<\/p>\n<p>VeryDarkMan had recently called out the popular prophet for allegedly impoverishing his members by selling spiritual materials to them.<\/p>\n<p>The critic was majorly concerned about bottled water, such as the \u2018Pool of Bethesda water\u2019 and \u2018Red Sea water\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>One of the bottled water was said to have the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, number.<\/p>\n<p>VDM had since petitioned the government agency to explain the rationale behind their endorsement of the spiritual product.<\/p>\n<p>After the criticism that followed the exposure by VDM, the prophet reportedly slammed a N1 billion suit against VDM.<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to gather evidence to support his claim, VDM went an extra step of testing the products, which claimed to have \u201cmiraculous healing powers,\u201d on a large group of disabled individuals in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>According to the viral video that captured the exercise, none of the disabled was healed after administering the product.<\/p>\n<p>In a more recent development, VDM in a video clip on his official Facebook page, claimed that the controversial prophet had pulled down some of the items from the church\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n<p>However, the church management in a statement issued on Saturday night by one Sophia Lloyd, debunked the claim.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the church\u2019s legal team has been directed to take necessary actions against VDM.<\/p>\n<p>It labeled Otse\u2019s claims as \u201cunfounded lies\u201d and \u201ccheap propaganda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They further emphasized that the video publication is a deliberate attempt to defame their General Overseer and tarnish the reputation of the church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe church clarified that Otse is not an official representative of Mercy Television or the church and does not have the authority to speak or act on their behalf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Church\u2019s legal team has been instructed to take appropriate action regarding these false allegations,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
