Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command, in a joint operation with quasi-security outfits, have arrested a 54-year-old suspected gun-runner identified as Jinta Sati Dan-Anacha.<\/p>\n

Spokesman of the Command, SP Ahmed Wakili, disclosed in a statement on Friday that Dan-Anacha, a resident of Anguwan Bauchi in Jos, Plateau State was apprehended by a sister security agency during a stop-and-search operation along Jos-Bauchi road.<\/p>\n

He said the suspect was found with a fabricated AK-47 rifle concealed in a bag.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, investigations revealed that the suspect intended to deliver the rifle to an individual in Gombe.<\/p>\n

\u201cDan-Anacha, who claimed to have served with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Missionary in Jos for 32 years, is currently under investigation as authorities seek further details about his intentions and any possible accomplices,\u201d Wakil stated.<\/p>\n

In another development, the police have recovered dangerous arms and ammunition from kidnappers\u2019 den.<\/p>\n

SP Wakili disclosed that on August 19, 2024, the security personnel targeted the notorious kidnappers\u2019 hideout situated atop a hill in Kufan Ningi, adding that a cache of dangerous arms and ammunition were recovered from the kidnapper\u2019s hideouts.<\/p>\n

The operation was said to have escalated into a fierce exchange of gunfire with the bandits which led to the recovery of an AK-49 rifle and fourteen rounds of ammunition at the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on credible intelligence, the Command, in collaboration with quasi-security outfits, launched an early morning raid in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the operation, a locally-made revolver, a cut-to-size Dane gun, and three rounds of cartridges were found abandoned under a hollow tree, likely discarded by the fleeing criminals,\u201d Wakil said.<\/p>\n
