Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, presented the official letter of approval for the commencement of the newly established Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital to the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, HRH Justice Muhammad Sidi Bage (Rtd), on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The presentation follows the approval of President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (SDP, Nasarawa West) accompanied Professor Pate during the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Among the dignitaries present was Prince Ibrahim Hassan Abdullahi, who holds the traditional title of Adon Garin Lafia Bare Bari.<\/p>\n

The establishment of the teaching hospital is the realization of efforts initiated in 2021 by Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the former governor of Nasarawa State, who represents Nasarawa South in the 9th Nigerian Senate.<\/p>\n

Senator Al-Makura had sponsored the bill that led to the hospital\u2019s creation, which was subsequently signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

The newly approved teaching hospital is expected to significantly boost medical education and healthcare delivery in Nasarawa State and beyond.<\/p>\n
