Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A hit-and-run driver has reportedly killed one Adeyemi Adeniyi, a motorcyclist driving along the Idofa, Imeko road in Ogun state.<\/p>\n

The unknown driver in an unregistered ash color Mazda 626 car was traveling from Imeko towards Ilara when he veered from his lane and collided with the deceased traveling from Ilara towards Imeko.<\/p>\n

Confirming the incident to DAILY POST on Thursday, the PRO of the Ogun State police command, Omolola Odutola, blamed the cause of the crash to excess speed on the part of the Mazda driver.<\/p>\n

She noted that the driver fled on foot leaving his vehicle and the deceased on the road before he was taken to General Hospital Imeko by a bystander where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

Odutola said \u201c Information available indicates that on Sunday around 10:30 hrs there was a hit and run\/fatal car accident along Idofa Imeko Road across from Muslim Grammar School involving an unregistered Mazda 626 in Ashe color driven by an unidentified individual and a popular lady\u2019s bike ridden by the late Adeyemi Adeniyi \u2018M\u2019 from Professor Asiwaju Road Imeko Mine<\/p>\n

\u201cThe accident happened when the aforementioned unregistered Mazda 626 was traveling from Imeko towards Ilara and the deceased was traveling from Ilara towards Imeko.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to speeding upon reaching Muslim Grammar School Imeko the unidentified driver veered from their lane and collided with the oncoming motorcycle.<\/p>\n

She disclosed that an investigation has begun and the vehicle towed to the station for inspection by the motor traffic department.<\/p>\n
