{"id":130206,"date":"2024-09-06T23:13:45","date_gmt":"2024-09-06T22:13:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/police-detain-nine-suspects-for-various-crimes-in-gombe"},"modified":"2024-09-07T00:28:14","modified_gmt":"2024-09-06T23:28:14","slug":"police-detain-nine-suspects-for-various-crimes-in-gombe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/police-detain-nine-suspects-for-various-crimes-in-gombe","title":{"rendered":"Police detain nine suspects for various crimes in Gombe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Gombe State Police Command said it detained nine suspects for various offences in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abdullahi Buhari, disclosed this at a news conference in Gombe.<\/p>\n<p>Buhari, who represented the Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Usman, at the conference, said the crimes committed by the suspects included armed robbery, assisting in concealment, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExhibits recovered included two laptops, 26 mobile phones, three power banks, three torchlights, one rechargeable hand fan, four pairs of women\u2019s sandals and five ATM cards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the sum of N224,700 and one charm and three cutlasses were also recovered from the suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The command\u2019s spokesman said some of the suspects were responsible for robbing the Nigerian Christian Fellowship Corper lodge in Billiri and the house of the immediate past Commissioner of Agriculture in the state, Mr Muhammad Gettado.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that in the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to having committed the alleged offences and would soon be charged in court.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Buhari stated that five suspects were at large in connection with the crimes, adding that the police were on their trail.<\/p>\n<p>Buhari assured residents of the state of the command\u2019s commitment to protecting lives and safeguarding property in the state.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
