Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The presidency has denied that a yacht spotted in St. Tropez, a coastal town in France, belongs to President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

This follows several reports and speculation on social media.<\/p>\n

They claimed that a \u201cpresidential yacht belonging to the Nigerian government is being used for vacation at St. Tropez.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, one of President Tinubu\u2019s media aides, Otega Ogra, took to his verified X page to debunk the reports.<\/p>\n

Ogra insisted that \u201cthe yacht belongs to a private individual and not President Tinubu or the Nigerian Navy.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, flags used by the president or armed forces do not contain a coat of arms like the one on the yacht.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt is not uncommon for luxury yachts to fly the flag of the owner\u2019s country as well as the flag of the country in which they are registered.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe official Nigerian flag is Green-White-Green without a coat of arms in the middle. Flags representing the Nigerian President or the Armed Forces do not contain a coat of arms in the centre. Placing anything in the centre of the flag is a clear deviation.\u201d<\/p>\n
