{"id":130335,"date":"2024-09-08T10:30:04","date_gmt":"2024-09-08T09:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/kwara-police-confirms-poly-students-death-assures-justice"},"modified":"2024-09-08T11:37:58","modified_gmt":"2024-09-08T10:37:58","slug":"kwara-police-confirms-poly-students-death-assures-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/kwara-police-confirms-poly-students-death-assures-justice","title":{"rendered":"Kwara police confirms poly student\u2019s death, assures justice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kwara State Police Command has commenced thorough investigation into the tragic death of Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, a student of the state polytechnic, Ilorin, who was allegedly killed by the police last Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, in a statement in Ilorin on Sunday by spokesperson of the command, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, said actors and witnesses have already been identified.<\/p>\n<p>He said the police command was fully dedicated to uncovering the facts of the matter and ensuring that those responsible were brought to justice in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n<p>According to the commissioner, the command is working with care and diligence \u201cas we understand the importance of providing clear answers to the family and community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur commitment to transparency in this investigation is unwavering and we pledge to conduct the process with the utmost integrity, leaving no room for doubt or compromise,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The command extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola during this painful and trying time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe deeply sympathize with the family, friends, and all those affected by this unfortunate event which occurred on 4th September, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe loss of a loved one, especially in such circumstances, is a burden that no family should have to bear alone.
