Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Parents and guardians across Taraba State are currently raising concerns over the increasing cost of fuel as schools reopen tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Some of them, who spoke on Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital, said the situation will undoubtedly put additional financial pressure on their households.<\/p>\n

Many parents, particularly those with children attending schools far from their areas of residence, expressed concern over the sharp rise in fuel prices, which they noted has made daily commutes more expensive and unsustainable.<\/p>\n

One of the parents, who claimed they are already dealing with the high cost of food items, school supplies, and fees, said the recent development will further worsen their predicament.<\/p>\n

The parents, who expressed sadness over the current pump price of fuel, especially in Taraba State, said the hike has made it even harder for them to manage.<\/p>\n

Parents and guardians outside Jalingo metropolis, who also spoke with our reporter via telephone, echoed similar sentiments as their counterparts in the state capital.<\/p>\n

Edit Clement, a mother of four, who claimed her children\u2019s school fees have been increased, wondered how her family will cope with the recent hike in petrol pump price.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the way things are going, some of us who have no other sources of income apart from our monthly salaries may end up withdrawing our children from school,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

They called on the government to intervene and provide relief to enable their children and wards to continue with their education.<\/p>\n

The fuel price surge, as observed , comes at a time when many families are already struggling with inflation and other economic challenges.<\/p>\n

Apart from a litre of petrol currently being sold at N1,200, transport fares and food items have also skyrocketed across the entire state.<\/p>\n
