Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Committee, Senator Olaka Nwogu, has dismissed claims that the party summoned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n

Nwogu said the party\u2019s disciplinary committee has yet to meet and deliberate on issues concerning Wike.<\/p>\n

Recall that the PDP\u2019s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, had disclosed that the party summoned the FCT minister for alleged anti-party activities.<\/p>\n

Abdullahi said Wike was scheduled to face the party\u2019s disciplinary committee.<\/p>\n

However, the former Rivers Southeast senator said individuals familiar with the situation contributed to spreading the misinformation for some personal reasons.<\/p>\n

Nwogu said: \u201cI am a member of the disciplinary committee of the party. I was disturbed when the report came that Nyesom Wike had been summoned at a time when the Disciplinary Committee has not even met to consider any of these things.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been a lot of misinformation to the public sometimes by people who should know better, who shouldn\u2019t do that for reasons they know best.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are allegations that are flying all over the place, and even the committee\u2019s work is being put in a different light from what the committee has tried to do. The committee is still organizing itself to now look at its functions.\u201d<\/p>\n
