Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Anambra State Government has said it will start paying the new minimum wage of N70,000 from October.<\/p>\n

Governor Chukwuma Soludo made the announcement on Thursday at a meeting with principals and head teachers in public primary and secondary schools, at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women\u2019s Development Center, Awka.<\/p>\n

Soludo said: \u201cFrom next week, the free education policy will be available to senior students in all public schools in Anambra.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assure that even with the binding resource constraint, this administration will continue to work very hard to deliver on the mandate.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom next month, we also hope to start paying the new minimum wage of N70,000,\u201d the governor announced.<\/p>\n

Soludo had previously announced the free education policy for primary and junior secondary schools.<\/p>\n

With the new announcement by the governor, the state will maintain full free education for all primary pupils, as well as junior and senior secondary school students.<\/p>\n
