Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Two Fulani herders \u2013 Musa Haruna, 25, and Saliu Sanusi, 27, on Friday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court over alleged unlawful grazing.<\/p>\n

The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with unlawful grazing.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor, Insp Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on September 30 at about 10:00a.m in Ado-Ekiti.<\/p>\n

Adeniyi alleged that the defendants unlawfully grazed their cattle in a restricted land by the government.<\/p>\n

He said the offence contravened Section 2 and Punishable under Section 7 of the Prohibition of Cattle and Other Ruminants Grazing in Ekiti State Law, 2016.<\/p>\n

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n

Counsel to the defendants, Mrs Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.<\/p>\n

The Chief Magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one surety each in like sum.<\/p>\n

She adjourned the case until October 31 for hearing.<\/p>\n
