Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Garba, has presented cheques totaling N83,102,207.38 to 45 next of kin of deceased personnel, according to the Nigeria Police Force, Kano State Command spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna.<\/p>\n

The statement was to alleviate the burden of the families of deceased and injured police officers in the line of duty.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries is a transparent demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police\u2019s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis gesture is the reinforcement of the Police Force\u2019s commitment and dedication to supporting its officers and their immediate family members,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the beneficiaries are deceased police officers\u2019 next of kin and police victims of accidents.<\/p>\n

The beneficiaries specifically thanked the IGP and promised to make good use of the money, saying it came at a time it was most needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IGP\u2019s welfare scheme is a testament to the police force\u2019s commitment to its personnel and their families.
