Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, on Wednesday, said President Bola Tinubu, senators, and state governors should make sacrifices.<\/p>\n

Sani said leaders should make sacrifices to move Nigeria forward in the face of the prevailing hardship facing the country.<\/p>\n

He spoke at the 64th Baptist Ministers Conference in Kaduna.<\/p>\n

The former lawmaker also highlighted the severe impact of fuel price hikes on Nigerians\u2019 daily lives.<\/p>\n

He stressed that while transformation comes with sacrifices, it should not be borne solely by the poor.<\/p>\n

Sani urged leaders in power to set an example by making personal sacrifices.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a nation of 224 million people, and we cannot ignore the serious economic challenges facing the masses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president, ministers, governors, senators, and those in authority must lead by making sacrifices to move the nation forward,\u201d Sani said.<\/p>\n

This came after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd, hiked the pump price of the Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, to N1,030 per litre.<\/p>\n

However, Nigerian petroleum marketers said the government has completely removed subsidy on petrol, hence the hike in price.<\/p>\n
