Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike passed through him.<\/p>\n

Amaechi, who said he doesn\u2019t like to mention Wike\u2019s name, noted that the FCT Minister passed through him when he was governor of the state.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Ebere TV, the former Minister of Transportation, said Wike was his Chief of Staff as governor.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWhen I became governor, Wike became Chief of Staff \u2013 but, I don\u2019t like calling his name. Name any Rivers politician that didn\u2019t pass through me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI joined politics at the age of 22 and there were two camps \u2013 Rufus George camp, poor and broke; we hardly had food to eat \u2013 Abule\u2019s camp which was very rich and everybody was rushing to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut those of us who bothered about character, because my father taught me character, stood with Rufus without knowing if we will win or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd at the end of the day, God delivered us and we became government. He became governor and I became Special Assistant.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe same thing with Odili, he didn\u2019t have money but we stood with him because it\u2019s about character. The crop of politicians then are different from what we have now.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor anybody who passed through me, the first thing you learn is about honesty; if they are honest, then they have done well.\u201d<\/p>\n
