{"id":134437,"date":"2024-10-16T11:24:31","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T10:24:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/again-gunmen-kill-5-in-plateau-fresh-attack"},"modified":"2024-10-16T12:29:06","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T11:29:06","slug":"again-gunmen-kill-5-in-plateau-fresh-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/again-gunmen-kill-5-in-plateau-fresh-attack","title":{"rendered":"Again, gunmen kill 5 in Plateau fresh attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Gunmen have again launched a fresh attack on some rural communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing no fewer than five people.<\/p>\n<p>This is contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Chairman of Bokkos Cultural Development Council, Farmasum Fuddang and the Secretary, Duwam Bosco.<\/p>\n<p>The duo said the attack occurred on Monday, October 14, decrying previous attacks that have led to the death of several people in the past.<\/p>\n<p>They said despite credible warnings, terrorists, identified as members of the Fulani tribe, launched a brutal attack on the village of Rafut in the Kwatas district shortly after 7 pm on October 14th.<\/p>\n<p>They added that the unprovoked assault occurred even after a security meeting with the police and the military authorities in Bokkos was held on October 13.<\/p>\n<p>This happened following a week marked by bloody attacks, during which over 10 members of the community were brutally murdered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFour young men, who were out guarding their family\u2019s home, were tragically ambushed as they stood watch; the attackers thereafter stormed the compound, killing an elderly man, bringing the total fatalities to five.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive in Wumat on October 7th , four in Kuba on October 10th, one in Maikatako on October 11th, and another on October 12th,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Nigeria Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
