Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A thunderstrike has killed a 70-year-old man identified as Malam Abu Yusuf in Abocho, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at about 5:40 pm on Thursday as a result of a heavy downpour in the community.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST gathered that the sad incident has thrown many residents of the community in shock and mourning.<\/p>\n

An indigene of Abocho, identified as Dansoho Sulaiman, told DAILY POST that Yusuf was hale and healthy before his demise.<\/p>\n

Narrating what happened, Sulaiman said: \u201cSomeone very close to the family just called to inform me of his death. There was a heavy downpour in Abocho in the afternoon up to this evening. He was outside and suddenly there was thunder and lightning.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe fell victim and died. This has never happened in Abocho community. Although I heard it once happened in Anyigba, the people of Abocho are in shock with this sad news because he was hale and healthy up to this time. The deceased is the Imam of Angwa community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The deceased will be buried according to Islamic rites on Friday.<\/p>\n
