{"id":134695,"date":"2024-10-18T11:21:54","date_gmt":"2024-10-18T10:21:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/emefiele-court-gives-nod-to-efccs-request-to-present-witness"},"modified":"2024-10-18T12:28:56","modified_gmt":"2024-10-18T11:28:56","slug":"emefiele-court-gives-nod-to-efccs-request-to-present-witness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/sport\/emefiele-court-gives-nod-to-efccs-request-to-present-witness","title":{"rendered":"Emefiele: Court gives nod to EFCC\u2019s request to present witness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>An FCT High Court in Maitama has accepted the request of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to present two witnesses virtually in the trial of former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor Godwin Emefiele.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Maryanne Anenih in a ruling on Thursday granted EFCC\u2019s application in which it sought the court\u2019s permission to be allowed to field the witnesses, who are currently abroad, through video link.<\/p>\n<p>The EFCC is prosecuting Emefiele on a six-count charge of unlawfully printing of new naira notes, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The court adjourned till October 17 for the continuation of the trial, as the prosecution\u2019s fourth witness, Edward Adamu (a former Deputy Governor of Corporate Services at the CBN), concluded his testimony.<\/p>\n<p>At the mention of the case yesterday, EFCC\u2019s lawyer A. O.
